2 Years and 1 Day Ago

Exactly 2 years and one day ago I was sitting in church and felt God speak His plans for our family to adopt into my heart. Now, today, as you read this we are flying in the air, headed across the oceans to finally bring home this sweet boy who was born into my heart that day back on September 21, 2008. What perfect timing. You know what that was when I say I ‘felt God speaking adoption into my heart’?

It was our son saying, “Mommy, will you come?”

“Daddy, will you come for me?”

It was God whispering into my soul that He has a Purpose. He has a Mighty Plan. Will I step out in obedience and be a part of it?

Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow. (Isaiah 1:17)

Or will I shrivel in fear of the unknown.

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. (1 John 4:18-20)

Jesus came for me when I was broken, desperate, empty, and fatherless. How then can I not give of myself in return?

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." (Matthew 16:24)

Dear Justice~

We’re coming.

Love,
Daddy & Mommy
