Books for Samuel

Just wanted to share some great children's books that we have received as gifts or purchased for Samuel that feature African characters. I will be taking these with us on the plane. :)

Goal!
by Mina Javaherbin

A lyrical, strikingly illustrated story celebrates the unifying power of soccer. In a dusty township in South Africa, Ajani and his friends have earned a brand-new, federation-size soccer ball. They kick. They dribble. They run. They score. These clever boys are football champions! But when a crew of bullies tries to steal their ball, will Ajani and his friends be able to beat them at their own game?

In this whimsical story, children discover what it really means to give their heart to Jesus. Before her very eyes, a beautiful little girl observes her mother change day to day. As her mother's heart changes so does their relationship with each other and God.

Every Child Everywhere!
by Debby Anderson

Celebrates children as reflections of the joy and creativity of God. Bright illustrations and joyful narrative inspire confidence that the love of Christ can be expressed across culture.

In just searching on Barnes & Noble online there are many more that I can add to our wish list! Let me know if you’ve come across any good ones!
