The visa has not been issued. They need the actual death certificate of Samuel's father to issue the visa. The embassy is trying to contact the registrar of births and deaths as well as Kofi. They are still trying to work on it today and get the actual certificate. Once they get the actual certificate they will get another appointment with the Embassy.
JJ and Janel will keep their flights as planned along with Big Sam and Ezekiel. However, Janel requests no homecoming celebration at the airport at this time. We hope that Jake and Samuel will be coming home right behind them in a few days. THEN we will have the homecoming celebration! Samuel won't be home until they can get his visa approved for travel.
I will update this blog as I know more.

No visa today
No visa today. They got called to be there at 7 am tomorrow! That is 2 am our time folks! I will be up waiting for the text.

Updated Flight Information
The return flight is scheduled for Wed, Jun 23.
1 am leave Accra arriving in Atlanta GA 8:45 am; flight DL185
2:40 pm leave Atlanta GA arriving in NY at 5:06 pm; flight DL2286
6:30 pm leave NY arriving in Des Moines 8:49 pm; flight DL3507
I will update once I know if they have the visa and who will be arriving on the 23rd.
Their appointment with the Embassy is tomorrow at 1 pm Ghana time.

tentative return
The plan as of tonight is for the Sullivan's to return on Wed, 23rd. More details when I have their flights and times.

embassy update
This is Lori posting today's info for Janel:
Samuel and JJ are doing great! Samuel doesn't understand English very well, but super sweet and very polite. He can write well and able to copy his name after Janel wrote it out on a napkin. Samuel is very comfortable with them and laughs at JJ's antics :).
They went to the embassy and they cannot issue the visa sooner than 21st. Apparently it is just an appointment to see if it is done being processed. Doesn't mean it will be printed and ready. So all we can do is PRAY that it will be printed and ready.
