In case you wondered where it was yesterday, Jake’s Thought for the Week takes a break now until the fall. So, until that starts up again, I thought it might be fun to share with you some interesting facts on the country, culture & customs of Ghana from this new book that I am reading:



Here are some interesting segments that I have read so far in the Intro chapter…..

-Ghanaians are very welcoming to foreign guests, respectful to each other, strong followers of tradition, and have deep familial and communal values. Because of the Ghanaians incredible hospitality and love of peace, Ghana has a claim to be the safest and friendliest country in Africa.

-The people of Ghana like to do things their own way, and Ghana is a proud country that does not cater exclusively to tourists, but rather expects them to fit in with the Ghanaian pace and way of life. Visitors are warmly welcomed, but Ghanaians will require these visitors to be sympathetic to Ghanaian customs and beliefs.

-A visit to Ghana is highly recommended for those looking for a life-changing and eye-opening experience. It is not, however, without its downsides, and visitors do experience frustrations and barriers. Less impressive aspects include the roads, sanitation, timekeeping, and customer service.
